Victor Boniface’s boss at Bayer Leverkusen, Xabi Alonso, is odds on to replace Carlo Ancelotti and become the next Real Madrid manager, with reports stating the former Spain international midfielder will sign a three-year deal with Los Blancos.
There is already an agreement between Madrid and Alonso for the current Bayer Leverkusen coach to take over after the FIFA Club World Cup, according to Spanish publication Marca as well as football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano.
Alonso has already chosen part of his coaching staff and will be accompanied by Sebas Parrilla as his assistant. He will also be joined by Alberto Encinas, a trusted physical trainer who has been in Germany and was with Barcelona in the 2011/2012 season.
The impending arrival of Alonso at the Santiago Bernabeu puts an end to one of the great chapters of recent years, with Ancelotti set to depart the Madrid managerial role to take over the helm of the Brazilian national team.
