Tottenham Hotspur star Cristian Romero is hopeful that Spurs will secure trophies next season. The defender has been linked with a potential move to La Liga giants Real Madrid.
In an interview with ESPN, Romero shared his optimism for a successful season ahead.
“I’m not thinking about other clubs! I have a lot of respect for Tottenham,” Romero told ESPN. “They have always shown me great support, and I enjoy playing here. Let’s hope we can win a trophy this season. That is my goal.”
Romero played a crucial role in Argentina’s triumphs in the Copa America and the FIFA World Cup in 2022. The last time Spurs fans celebrated a trophy was in the 2008 League Cup.
The club has come close to silverware in recent years having reached the Champions League final in 2019 and the League Cup finals in 2015 and 2021. They remain hopeful for a trophy under manager Ange Postecoglou.
