Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is set to leave Napoli at the end of the season. Although he signed a contract extension till 2026, it is expected that he will be sold to another club at the end of the season. “We already knew it since last summer,” said Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis. “The negotiation for the renewal would not have been this long otherwise. We already know that he would go to Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, or the Premier League.
Victor Osimhen wins the Scudetto
Osimhen himself has not publicly declared the club he would be moving to but he has hinted that he would be leaving saying “At the end of the season, I’ve already made up my mind. I already know what I want to do with my career. I already know the next step I want to take so for now I just want to finish the season strong.”
Osimhen scored 31 goals last season to help Napoli win their first scudetto since 1990 and placed eighth in last year’s Balon d’Or ranking. It is expected that he will be making a big-money move to a big club outside the Serie A. But which club will Osimhen go to next? Here’s a list of the top clubs the Nigerian striker may move to next season.
1. PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN
With the imminent exit of their star forward Kylian Mbappe who is Real Madrid-bound, PSG is now in the market for a new striker and Victor Osimhen’s name is in the conversation.
Osimhen has emerged as the leading candidate to replace Mbappe at PSG and while no contact has been reported between PSG and Osimhen, it is expected that they will try to sign him from Napoli before the end of the summer transfer window.
PSG certainly has the money to sign him but will they be able to convince the Nigerian to buy into their project?
2. CHELSEA
There have been plenty of rumors about Chelsea’s interest in the young Nigerian since last year and it looks like this may be his chosen destination. Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has reportedly been in contact with the Nigerian in what many have tagged an attempt to convince him to join the London club. The involvement of fellow Nigerian and Chelsea legend, John Obi Mikel may also influence his decision in getting him to join the West London club.

With Chelsea’s current position in the Premier League and a lack of Champions League football, it may be difficult to get the Nigerian to come to Stamford Bridge.
3. ARSENAL
Arsenal is also looking to sign the Nigerian and may be the leader in this race as Mikel Arteta reportedly has already reached a verbal agreement with the Nigerian. They’re looking to sign a strike to provide an alternative to Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah.
Arsenal looks like a good destination for him as they are currently premier league title contenders and can guarantee Osimhen Champions League football. Not to mention they are scoring loads of goals. He would fit perfectly into the young squad and have the opportunity to score plenty of goals.
It is doubtful though if Arsenal will have the money to finance the transfer and pay a humongous release clause that is reportedly over €100m.
4. MANCHESTER UNITED
The Red Devils are also front-runners to sign the Nigerian striker. With Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS group taking over at Old Trafford, the Premier League giants may be looking at a complete overhaul of the squad. A Champions League qualification will certainly help their chances of signing Osimhen.
Osimhen has been heavily linked with a Premier League move since last year with Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United being front-runners to sign the Nigerian. PSG has only recently entered the fray due toMbappe’s imminent exit but they will certainly put up a fight to sign the striker.
Where do you think he’ll end up? Which club do you think Osimhen should sign for?
