Raphinha, has upped the stakes for the FIFA World Cup qualifying clash between South America’s powerhouses, Brazil and Argentina, with the Barcelona forward declaring that Brazil will beat the qualifying series leaders on their home turf.
The arch-rivals meet at the Monumental on Tuesday night, with Brazil seeking a win to close the gap on Albiceleste to four points, while Argentina could seal a spot at next year’s World Cup with a win.
“We’ll beat them up… Absolutely! Beat them up! On the pitch and off the pitch if we have to,” Raphinha told Brazil football legend Romario in an interview on Romario TV. “For sure I’m going to (score a goal against Argentina). I’m going in with everything I’ve got…”
Argentina will be without Lionel Messi – left out from the squad as he recovers from an injury – and Lautaro Martinez, who had to leave the team camp after picking up an injury as well.
