Tennis legend, Serena Williams, made a surprise appearance at Super Bowl LIX during the hugely anticipated half-time show headlined by American rap star, Kendrick Lamar.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion joined K-dot for a cameo during half-time performance, sparking a buzz with her crip-walk while Lamar performed “Not Like Us” – his Grammy award-winning diss track aimed at Serena’s ex, Drake.
Williams’ crip-walk was also a nod to her and Lamar’s shared roots in Compton. Lamar even referenced Williams in his song when he rapped: “From Alondra down to Central, better not speak on Serena.”
Lamar’s performance, featuring hits like “Humble.”, “DNA.”, and “All the Stars”, made history as he became the first solo rapper to headline the Super Bowl half-time show.
Following the Super Bowl LIX half-time show, the Philadelphia Eagles sustained their big lead from the first half to win only their second NFL title, beating the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
