Leandro Trossard showed great composure to score Arsenal’s second in the 4-1 demolition of Bayer Leverkusen at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.
Trossard started the move for the goal when his press led to Bayer Leverkusen losing possession just outside the Leverkusen box, with the Belgian finding Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard.
Odegaard found Gabriel Jesus on the left, who passed to Kai Havertz, with the German forward shifting the ball to Trossard in the penalty area to score a well-executed goal in the ninth minute.
Trossard’s goal came a minute after Oleksandr Zinchenko put Arsenal in front with a sublime strike, while Jesus made it 3-0 with a long-range effort six minutes before the half.
Havertz put the game to bed with the fourth midway through the second half before Adam Hlozek netted the Bundesliga champions’ consolation strike after 75 minutes.
The Gunners will next face Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon in the Emirates Cup before kicking off their 2024/25 Premier League campaign at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
How highly would you rate Trossard’s strike over 10?
