There was some tension in the arena as former allies faced off at Madison Square Garden in a pre-season NBA match-up, just a week after trading teams.
Karl-Anthony Towns stepped on court for the New York Knicks as they faced Minnesota Timberwolves who received Donte DiVincenzo and Julius Randle from the Knicks in that trade.
While Anthony Edwards led Timberwolves’ scoring with 31 points as DiVincenzo and Naz Reid got 15 points apiece, it was not enough as the Knicks edged the pre-season encounter in a 115-110 win.
KAT posted 16 points and 16 rebounds while Jalen Brunson got 24 points and OG Anunoby posted 19 points and six rebounds for the Knicks.
Nigeria’s Precious Achiuwa also featured for the Knicks, ending the game with four points and five rebounds in 19 minutes of action.
