Manchester United are set to make an ambitious offer for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who is on loan for the 2024/25 season at Galatasaray from Serie A side, Napoli.
The Red Devils are currently struggling in the goalscoring department, and are said to be arranging an offer of €40 million plus Rasmus Hojlund in a part-exchange deal for Osimhen.
According to reports from Calciomercato’s Daniel Longo, the Red Devils have made a first offer for the Nigerian striker, which would see the club’s current number nine head in the opposite direction.
Longo reports the 22-year-old Hojlund has not convinced manager Ruben Amorim, with Old Trafford officials searching for a new striker in the summer to improve the team’s misfiring attack.
Osimhen, who has a release clause in the region of £65 million (that becomes active in the summer), has scored 14 goals in 19 games in the Super Lig for Galatasaray after joining the Turkish champions on loan last summer.
United strike pair of Joshua Zirkzee and Hojlund have combined for just five league goals this season, which has seen the Red Devils languishing in 14th spot on the table.
