Victor Boniface and Bayer Leverkusen teammate, Emiliano Buendia, were involved in a spat towards the end of the club’s 4-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in a Bundesliga match on Saturday.
Both players, who came on at different stages of the second half, had to be separated by other teammates, with Boniface shoving Buendia away before teammates intervened.
Boniface and Buendia had tried to shoot the ball at the same time, with the ball bouncing off a Frankfurt player and out for a corner-kick, which came to nothing.
Teammates Victor Boniface and Emi Buendía got into it after they both tried to take the same shot on goal.

Speaking after the match which saw Leverkusen go 11 points clear in second place, Xabi Alonso said “We don’t make a big deal out of something small. We’ll continue on Monday.”
“He (Boniface) wanted to score a goal. It’s not a problem. We’ll talk about it. The most important thing is the team, the performance and the result,” Alonso added after going 29 away games unbeaten.
Simon Rolfes on his part felt Boniface did not have to push Buendia, who is on loan from Aston Villa. “We want a team that’s ‘alive’, but Boni doesn’t have to push him away,” Rolfes said.
Alex García had this to say, “I saw it, but I didn’t know it was between Boniface and Emi. I don’t know what happened, but it’s football, it’s the heat of the game, so – it’s not important.”
