Olympique Marseille players have made a demand to the club’s hierarchy for head coach Roberto de Zerbi to be removed from the dugout in the club’s upcoming match in Ligue 1.
The demand comes as a fallout of Marseille’s defeat to Reims in a Ligue 1 clash last weekend, which left De Zerbi angered to the point that he refused to attend training on Monday, according to French publication L’Equipe.
Marseille players, who are at loggerheads with the Italian tactician, then approached management insisting they no longer want De Zerbi to take training.
The players also told Marseille Sports Director and former Morocco defender, Mehdi Benatia, that they do not want De Zerbi in charge for this weekend’s clash against Toulouse on Saturday night.
Meanwhile, De Zerbi is currently linked to the managerial role at Italian Serie A side AC Milan.
