Tottenham Hotspur have reignited their interest in Chelsea defender, Axel Disasi, as the club look for reinforcements before the winter transfer window shuts on Monday night.
The Lilywhites had agreed a loan deal worth £5 million with Chelsea for the Frenchman last week, but the move was derailed after the player himself snubbed the switch, as his preference was to join Aston Villa.
However, a move to Villa fell through after both clubs failed to reach an agreement, plus the Blues do not want to strengthen a direct rival in the race for Champions League football.
Spurs then turned their sights on Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi and made a £70million bid (plus add-ons), but the Eagles made it clear that he was not for sale this window.
The back-and-forth has left Ange Postecoglou’s side now pushing to reach an agreement with the French player and hope to seal the deal in time.
Disasi joined Chelsea from French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco for £38.5million in 2023, but has played a bit-part role for the Blues and has started just four Premier League games this season.
