Tournament top seed Alexander Zverev has been knocked out of the Miami Open in Florida after suffering a straight sets defeat to Arthur Fils.
The German took the first set convincingly but failed to capitalise as Fils rallied to win 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 to advance into the next round.
Zverev’s defeat means that only the duo of Novak Djokovic and Taylor Fritz are the remaining top-10 seeds left in the last eight of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Djokovic’s quarter-final encounter against American 24th seed Sebastian Korda has been pushed back to Thursday to avoid breaching ATP rules prohibiting matches beginning after 23:00 local time.
Organisers revealed the match between the pair will be the third of the day (Thursday) and will start from 13:00 (17:00 GMT).
Meanwhile, Bulgarian 14th seed Grigor Dimitrov produced a courageous effort to beat Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo 6-7, 6-4, 7-6 to progress into the next round.
