Minnesota Timberwolves are through to the Western Conference Finals of this year’s NBA Playoffs following a 121-110 win over Golden State Warriors in Game 5 and seal a 4-1 series win on Wednesday night.

Anthony Edwards finished the game with 22 points and 12 assists to become the second youngest player to lead his team in playoff scoring and make the Conference Finals in back-to-back seasons since Kevin Durant did so with Oklahoma City Thunder in 2011 and 2012.

Julius Randle led scoring for Timberwolves on the night with 29 points as the franchise awaits the winner of the series between top-seeded OKC and fourth seeded Denver Nuggets, which OKC leads 3-2 heading into Game 6 on Thursday night in Denver.

Brandin Podziemski scored 28 points while Jonathan Kuminga added 26 points in a valiant effort for Golden State Warriors, who have sorely missed Steph Curry after the guard picked up a hamstring injury in Game 1 of the series against the Timberwolves.

Warriors had won that first game, but went on to drop the next four games while the all-time leading three-point scorer watched helplessly from the bench.
