England men’s national team coach Thomas Tuchel has held talks with Arsenal defender Ben White as he prepares to name his first Three Lions squad for next month’s internationals.
The 27-year-old has been on a self-imposed hiatus from the national team since leaving the England camp midway through their 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign in Qatar.
Tuchel previously revealed that he would reach out to the full-back and talks are now understood to have taken place between the pair.
It remains unclear whether White would change his decision to return to the national team set-up or if he makes the squad proper – having been sidelined due to injury.
Tuchel’s first games in charge of the Three Lions are the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia at Wembley on March 21st and 24th respectively.
The England boss is reported to have held talks with a number of English hopefuls since assuming the role as Gareth Southgate’s permanent successor on January 1st.
