Thomas Tuchel Drops Three Players From England Squad For Albania Clash

England head coach Thomas Tuchel has axed three players from his squad ahead of their FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture against Albania on Friday.

UEFA rules state that there can only be 23 players in a matchday squad, with Tuchel having called up 26 for his first training camp as the Three Lions national team boss.

As a result, Tuchel has made the tough decision to leave out three players which includes Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White, Southampton goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale and Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah.

However, Newcastle United trio Anthony Gordon, Tino Livramento and Dan Burn have all been included as the Three Lions begin their World Cup qualifiying bid. 

England’s 23-man squad vs Albania:

Goalkeepers: Dean Henderson (Crystal Palace), Jordan Pickford (Everton), James Trafford (Burnley).

Defenders: Dan Burn (Newcastle United), Levi Colwill (Chelsea), Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace), Reece James (Chelsea), Ezri Konsa (Aston Villa), Myles Lewis-Skelly (Arsenal), Tino Livramento (Newcastle United), Kyle Walker (AC Milan, loan from Manchester City).

Midfielders: Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Eberechi Eze (Crystal Palace), Jordan Henderson (Ajax), Curtis Jones (Liverpool), Declan Rice (Arsenal), Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa).

Forwards: Jarrod Bowen (West Ham United), Phil Foden (Manchester City), Anthony Gordon (Newcastle United), Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Marcus Rashford (Aston Villa, loan from Manchester United), Dominic Solanke (Tottenham Hotspurs).
