Former Manchester United manager, Erik Ten Hag, has penned an open letter to the club and the fans days after parting company with the Old Trafford club.
The former Ajax head coach was dismissed by the United board after their 2-1 loss against West Ham in the Premier League last weekend – the fourth loss for the club after only nine league matches.
In the statement, Ten Hag wrote, “I want to thank your for giving me this feeling and for your support. I also want to thank the staff in every department of the club for their unwavering support in good times and bad.”
The Dutchman added, “Of course my dream was to bring more trophies to the cabinet. Unfortunately that dream has come to an end.”
Ruud van Nistelrooy has taken charge of the team on an interim basis until when Ruben Amorim begins work as Ten Hag’s replacement after the Sporting Lisbon and United reached an agreement for him.
