Nigeria’s hurdles queen Tobi Amusan has been confirmed as the official flagbearer for Team Nigeria at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games during Country procession on the opening ceremony.
Amusan, who is the current world record holder in the 100 metres hurdles with a time of 12.12 seconds which she set in 2022 in Eugene, Oregon, had faced challenges earlier in the year but her provisional suspension was lifted and she has been cleared to represent Nigeria at Paris 24.
In addition, Badminton star Anuoluwapo Opeyori has been assigned as the Nigerian team’s Captain.
The announcement was made by the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), with the Olympic Games set to begin on Friday, July 26.
Both athletes are buzzing with energy as they hope to lead Nigeria to medal glory in Paris.
