Team Nigeria Release Roster For World Athletics Relays

The Athletic Federation of Nigeria (AFN) have released its roster that will represent the country at the World Athletics Relays set to hold in China next month. 

Headlining the 24-man strong squad for the event include former world champion and current record holder in the women’s 100m hurdles Tobi Amusan, who will be competing in the Women’s 4×100m.

Amusan will compete in the competition alongside Favour Ofili, Success Umukoro, Justina Eyakpobeyan, Rosemary Chukwuma and Obi Jennifer Chukwuka.

Representing the nation in the Men’s 4×100m are Alaba Akintola, Favour Ashe, Karlington Anunagba, Olaoye Folawiyo, Udodi Onwuzurike and Usheoritshe Itsekiri.

Veteran quarter-miler Patience Okon-George will once again be present in the Mixed 4×400m alongside the quintet of Ifeanyi Ojeli, Chidi Okezie, Samson Nathaniel, Praise Idamadudu and Omolara Ogunmakinju.

Then there is the Mixed 4×100m which will have the likes of Alaba Akintola, Favour Ashe, Favour Ofili, Success Umukoro, Rosemary Chukwuma and Udodi Onwuzurike.

Team Nigeria will compete in four events at the World Athletics Relays, with the hope of being amongst the top sixteen countries who will secure a qualification spot in each relay discipline at the World Championships later in the year (September) in Japan.

The World Athletics Relays will hold in Guangzhou, China from 10th-11th May, 2025.
