Super Eagles Star Switches La Liga Clubs in Search of Game Time

Nigerian international forward, Umar Sadiq, has completed a loan switch to Valencia from La Liga rivals, Real Sociedad, as the 27-year-old looks to get more game time.

Sadiq started just two matches for Sociedad in the first half of the 2024-25 campaign as he struggled for a regular place in the team, making the move to the Mestella as a result.

“For about three weeks, they’ve been in touch with me. Valencia CF is one of the most important clubs in Spain and we are in the same situation of hunger and growth in both,” Sadiq said at his unveiling.

He added, “I’ve talked with the coach and he explained what they need from me. They need us all to fight. That is the mission: to fight for Valencia CF.”

Sadiq could make his Valencia debut in a Copa Del Rey Round of 32 clash against Eldense on Tuesday, while a trip to face Kelechi Iheanacho’s Sevilla in La Liga awaits next weekend.
