Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry has been honoured as the 2024-25 Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year on Monday, hours before the Dubs take on Houston Rockets at Chase Center in Game 4 of their Western Conference first round series in the NBA Playoffs.
According to a statement by the NBA, “Curry receives the honour that recognises the player deemed the best teammate based on selfless play, on and off court leadership as a mentor and role model to other NBA players, and commitment and dedication to team.”
Curry got 66 first-place votes and 1,257 total points to narrowly defeat Houston Rockets center Steven Adams who finished the voting with 1,237 points, while New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson – awarded Clutch Player of the Year days ago – finished third.
37-year-old Curry will be out to replicate the form that saw him score 36 points and lead the Warriors without Jimmy Butler with 36 points to take a 2-1 lead in the series against the Rockets when both teams clash for Game 4 on Wednesday night.
The Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year Award is named for Hall of Famers Jack Twyman and Maurice Stokes, teammates on the Rochester/Cincinnati Royals from 1955-58.
