Super Eagles number one, Stanley Nwabali, has dedicated his latest outing with South African Premier League club, Chippa United, to his mother who passed away on New Year’s Day.
While everyone else celebrated the new year, the goalkeeper announced his mother’s passing on social media, receiving tons of support from colleagues and fans during the period.
The 28-year-old was in action for Chippa United in a Premier League match against Magesi, with the Chilli Boyz coming from a goal down to claim a 4-1 win away at the league’s bottom side.

Nwabali put up a solid display, making a couple of saves to ensure Chippa United’s comeback win, which sent the club above SuperSport United into 11th spot with 18 points after 14 matches.
Following the win, Nwabali went on social media to post a message that simply read: “My mom made me ❤️🩹🥹. +3”
Next up for Nwabali and Chippa United is another day on the road, this time to take on TS Galaxy – a club currently a point and a place above Chippa United in the league standings.
