Tottenham Hotspur have announced on Tuesday that they are exercising the option to extend star forward Son Heung-min’s contract, which will now run until the summer of 2026.
The 32-year-old South Korean international, who joined the Lilywhites in August 2015 from German Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen, has made 431 appearances and scored 169 goals – making him the club’s fourth highest all-time scorer.
Son, who was named club captain in August 2023, helped Spurs reach the UEFA Champions League Final in 2019 (where they lost to Liverpool) and enjoyed his best goalscoring season ever as he won the Premier League’s Golden Boot in the 2021/2022 campaign with 23 goals.
