Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Beats Giannis, Jokic to NBA MVP Award

Oklahoma City Thunder star, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, has been named the Most Valuable Player of the 2024-25 NBA regular season, beating former winners, Giannis Antetokounmpo of Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic, to this season’s prize.

Gilgeous-Alexander wins the award after leading OKC to a league-high 68 wins, becoming just the second player in NBA history to average at least 30 points on 50% shooting, five rebounds, five assists, 1.5 steals and one block per game during the season.

Chicago Bulls and NBA legend, Michael Jordan, was the first player to achieve the feat, doing do two times during his illustrious career with the first time coming in the 1987-88, following up the feat in the 1990-91 season.
