As Samuel Chukwueze is preparing for the Unity Cup final with the Super Eagles, the forward’s Italian Serie A club, AC Milan, are starting life under a new manager after signing a deal with Massimiliano Allegri to become the club’s new manager.

News of Allegri’s return to San Siro has been making the rounds in the past 24 hours, with huge leaps being made. Reports about Milan agreeing a deal with the head coach first emerged on Thursday afternoon.

Then, it was stated by multiple sources that the Italian was in Milano for a meeting with Giorgio Furlani to finalise an agreement over his contract, which is believed to be for the next three years.

The club itself has now confirmed Allegri’s return to the job, replacing Sergio Conceicao, who led Milan to the Supercoppa Italiana and Coppa Italia titles this season, as well as a disappointing eighth placed finish in Serie A this season.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Allegri has signed the deal that will bring him back to the Rossoneri, 11 years after he left the club and a year since his departure from Juventus. Allegri had a meeting with Igli Tare and Giovanni Branchini (his agent).

An agreement is in place for Allegri and Tare to lead the new era of the Diavolo, and his first game back should be in Serie A, due to his Coppa Italia ban, which will see him unable to be on the touchline for the preliminary round.
