Sad Day for Football as Former Nigeria Goalkeeper Dies

Former Nigeria national team goalkeeper, Peter Fregene, has passed away aged 77 years after a prolonged battle with health issues. Apo, as he was fondly called, died in the presence of family members – his wife and two children.

His demise was announced by former Nigeria international, Segun Odegbami, who used the chance to call on Nigerians to do more when it comes to welfare of the country’s former sports stars.
