Liverpool are reportedly gearing up for a transfer battle for Olympique Lyon midfielder Rayan Cherki, as interest from the German Bundesliga intensifies.
The Premier League leaders remain interested in Cherki and are being encouraged to bid for the French youngster, with Lyon now planning to sell him this summer.
Bundesliga outfits Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are both keen on the France U-21 star, which could trigger a bidding war in the summer with Liverpool also in the mix.
Cherki was watched by several major clubs on Friday night, as France U-21 defeated England 5-3. The midfielder scored one goal and provided two assists for the junior Les Blues. His current deal at Olympique Lyon will run until the summer of 2026.
