La Liga title holders, Real Madrid, have confirmed that German defender, Antonio Rudiger, has picked up a muscle injury and will be on the sidelines for tough upcoming games against Atletico Madrid and Manchester City.
The Germany international suffered the injury during Los Blancos’ 1-0 defeat away at Espanyol on Saturday night, with the club confirming on Sunday that he has an injury in the femoral biceps of his right leg.
Rudiger is expected to be sidelined for about 20 days, which means he will miss the derby against city rivals Atletico in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League round-of-16 playoff tie against Premier League giants Manchester City.
Should Rudiger’s recovery go ahead as scheduled, he could try to be available for the return leg against the Cityzens.
