Ruben Amorim Reveals Who He’d Pick Instead of Marcus Rashford at Manchester United

The drama between Manchester United head coach, Ruben Amorim, and striker, Marcus Rashford has taken a new dimension after the Red Devils boss hinted he would rather have a staff in his 60s on the bench than the England international.

Rashford has remained out of the United squad for weeks, with Amorim stating repeatedly that the 27-year-old will return to the squad only when there is an improvement in effort in training sessions from him.

“It’s always the same reason – the training, the way I see a footballer should do in life. It’s every day, every detail,” Amorim said. “If things don’t change, I will not change. It’s the same situation for every player.”

The United boss added, “You can see on the bench we miss a bit of pace on the bench, but I would put [Manchester United goalkeeper coach Jorge] Vital before a player who doesn’t give the maximum every day.”

Absence from the squad has led to speculation linking Rashford away from Old Trafford although nothing concrete has come from the links as the transfer window deadline draws nearer.
