Barcelona defender, Ronald Araujo, is set to stay with the La Liga outfit, having rescinded his decision to move to Serie A side, Juventus, this January.
Former player and current Barca Sporting Director, Deco, was heavily involved as he met Araujo on Tuesday and convinced him to reject Juventus’ interest and stay at Montjuic.
Spanish tabloid, Mundo Deportivo, also reported that there could soon be an agreement to renew the Uruguayan international’s contract. Araujo’s current contract with Barcelona expires June 30, 2026.
The new development will surely be a blow for Juventus, who had been longing for Araujo’s acquisition to help shore up their backline.
