Rodri Beats Vinicius, Bellingham to the 2024 Ballon d’Or Award, Yamal Wins Kopa Trophy

Manchester City and Spain midfielder, Rodri, has emerged the 2024 Men’s Ballon d’Or winner ahead of Real Madrid duo, Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham, in a ceremony held in Paris on Monday night.

Rodri’s win comes a year that has seen him win the Euros with Spain and the Premier League title with Man. City. He was named Player of the Tournament at the Euros, in which he went off at half-time of the final.

The 28-year-old midfielder was a key element in City winning a fourth consecutive Premier League title, and lost only one match inside 90 minutes when the Cityzens fell to Manchester United in the 2024 FA Cup final.

In the other categories, Lamine Yamal was named the 2024 Kopa Trophy winner as best young player, ahead of Arda Guler of Real Madrid and Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo.

Aitana Bonmati won the women’s Ballon d’Or to make it back-to-back wins, Emiliano Martinez claimed the Yachine Trophy for best goalkeeper, while Carlo Ancelotti and Emma Hayes emerged as the Men’s and Women’s Coach of the Year.
