Tottenham Hotspur have fallen further away from the top six as Leicester City pulled one of the biggest results of the weekend in the Premier League after coming from a goal down to claim a 2-1 win over Ange Postecoglu’s side in north London on Sunday.
Spurs went into the break with a 1-0 lead, courtesy of a goal from Richarlison. But Leicester City started the second half on a high and found themselves 2-1 up in no time thanks to Jamie Vardy and Bilal El Khannouss scoring in the first five minutes of the second period.
The Foxes held on for the crucial win to end a seven-match losing streak and climb out of the relegation zone. Leicester City now have 17 points in 17th spot, with Wolves dropping to 18th with 16 points following the 1-0 home loss to Arsenal on Saturday.
Tottenham on their part remain 15th with 24 points, eight points off the relegation zone and 16 points off the top six as the pressure continues to mount on Postecoglu’s side known for playing with the high-press.
Elsewhere in the Premier League, Aston Villa were held to a 1-1 draw by West Ham United, as Unai Emery’s side fell three points behind Bournemouth having failed to close the gap on the top seven.
