A new adventure with one of the greatest spies in fictional history is upon us, as IO Interactive unveiled the first look of 007: First Light, which takes on a ‘standalone re-imagining of James Bond’s origins’, with more than a sprinkle of insubordination at play from the main character.
“To have IO Interactive working on a 007 game is an incredible honor,” Yann Roskell, IO Interactive’s Senior Communication Manager, stated. “To be able to harness all the experience and craftsmanship we have been honing for the last 25 years to create a James Bond adventure is a unique journey for the studio, and we are thrilled to have this opportunity.”
Due to launch in 2026, 007: First Light will see follow a young James Bond who is at the start of his career as a spy agent and is recruited by MI6 where he meets iconic characters of the franchise – M, Q, and Moneypenny.
The game is confirmed for release on PC, PlayStation 5, XBox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Check out the 007: First Light announcement trailer here.
