Former Al Nassr head coach, Rudi Garcia, has been appointed as the new head coach of the Belgium national team, also known as the Red Devils, to replace Domenico Tedesco, who was sacked last week.

Tedesco was shown the exit from the Red Devils job following a series of poor results, with Garcia now taking a national team job for the first time in his managerial career.

Garcia previously managed a series of clubs in France and Italy – including Lille, AS Roma, Olympique Marseille and Olympique Lyon as well as Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr.

He was most recently manager of Napoli, but was dismissed in November 2023 after just 16 games in charge.

Belgium will take on Ukraine in a UEFA Nations League playoff tie in March to determine who will play in one of the top groups next season.

The Red Devils then travel to North Macedonia in June for their first 2026 World Cup qualifying match.
