A crisis meeting has been held among top members of the Red Bull Racing team after a less than ideal start to the 2025 Formula One season which has seen Max Verstappen win just one of four races so far and finishing sixth at the last grand prix in Bahrain.
The meeting saw Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner meet with technical director, Pierre Wache, the motorsport adviser, Helmut Marko, and the chief engineer, Paul Monaghan to address issues riddling the team early in the season.
Verstappen was left deeply dissatisfied at the end in Bahrain, in a race the Dutchman fought from down the grid to place six, well behind Oscar Piastri, who dominated the race from start to finish having started in pole position.
Piastri’s win in Bahraiin was his second already this season, with McLaren getting the win in the other three races and making podium finishes, compared to Red Bull Racing which had to switch drivers just two races into the season following below-par outings from Liam Lawson.
Red Bull team principal, Christian Horner, admitted there will be no quick fix and conceded that the team have problems that need to be addressed as soon as possible.
“[Bahrain GP] has exposed some pitfalls that are obviously very clear that we need to get on top of very quickly,” Horner said. ”Ultimately you can mask it a little through setup and we were able to achieve that last weekend in Suzuka. We understand where the issues are, it’s introducing the solutions that obviously take a little more time.”
