Ligue 1 giants PSG gave their Champions League Round-of-16 aspirations a huge lifeline after storming from two goals down to beat Manchester City 4-2 at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night.

In a blockbuster fixture which both teams needed all three points to preserve their Champions League status, it was the hosts who came out on top but not before being handed a scare by Pep Guardiola’s side.

The first half saw no goals but the floodgates did open up in the second. Substitute, Jack Grealish, gave City the lead when he lashed home within five minutes of the restart before Erling Haaland doubled the advantage just moments later.

City’s joy did not last long as it took seven minutes for Luis Enrique’s men to get a goal back. Substitute Ousmane Dembele halved the deficit before Bradley Barcola levelled the tie.

The hosts were on the ascendancy for the final 30 minutes and were rewarded with two more goals through Portuguese midfielder Joao Neves and a VAR-verified effort from another Portuguese star in the person of Goncalo Ramos.

Despite the victory, Paris Saint-Germain still need to beat German Bundesliga outfit, VfB Stuttgart, in their final league phase fixture next week in order to secure passage into the knockout rounds.
