Abuja-based Primal Sporting have emerged champions of the maiden Lagos Liga competition after a dramatic penalty shoot-out against Applebee FC on Friday night at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
Following easy wins in the semi-final earlier on Friday, both teams took to the pitch again to compete for the N50 million prize, with Applebee FC taking the lead through Raheem Ishola’s deflected shot in the first half.

Applebee FC were seconds away from winning Lagos Liga when Primal Sporting’s Precious struck in the dying seconds of the second half to force extra-time in the final.
No further goals were scored in extra-time, leading to a thrilling penalty shoot-out which witnessed 16 kicks being converted before Applebee’s Ishola missed the 18th kick in the shoot-out and confirm Primal Sporting as the first Lagos Liga champion.
