West Ham United player, Michail Antonio, has been confirmed as the Premier League star involved in a major car crash which has left his Ferrari with serious damages.
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said it attended the scene of the accident in Epping on Saturday afternoon and released a man – the 34-year-old Hammers forward – trapped in his car.
“Firefighters reported that a man was trapped in his car and worked to release him by 1.45pm. The casualty was left in the care of the Ambulance Service,” it said in a statement.
Meanwhile, in a statement put out by the club on Saturday, Antonio was airlifted to a hospital in central London from the scene of the accident.
A subsequent statement from the Hammers confirmed that the Jamaican footballer was conscious and communicating, and in stable condition in the hospital.
