The Premier League announce that it will have two transfer windows this summer, after clubs in the English top-flight reached an agreement for an early opening period before the main transfer window begins.
According to a statement from England’s top-flight division, the window will open from June 1 till June 10 to accommodate the revamped FIFA Club World Cup, before closing for five days and running again from June 16 until September 1, 2025.
The decision has been made after consultations with the clubs to ensure alignment with international transfer regulations and major football tournaments.
World football governing body, FIFA, approved an additional window from June 1 – 10 last October to allow the 32 clubs competing in the Club World Cup register new players before the tournament.
It also agreed to open a registration window mid-tournament, from June 27 and July 3 to allow clubs to register additional players for the knockout stage. FIFA also tweaked its registration rules which means that clubs can now sign players solely for the duration of the tournament.
