Manchester City midfielder, Kevin de Bruyne, recently revealed he will be leaving the Premier League club at the end of this season, bringing an end to a trophy-laden 10-year spell at the Etihad Stadium.
De Bruyne joined City from Wolfsburg in 2015 after failing to break into the first team at Chelsea earlier in his career, and going on to become one of the best midfielders to ever grace the Premier League.
The Belgium international ended up winning six league titles and two FA Cups with the Cityzens, as well as one UEFA Champions League title, though he is set to end his final season at the club without a trophy.
As the season draws to a close, The Athletic reports that Manchester City will consider a number of players to bring in as a replacement for De Bruyne, with Victor Boniface’s Bayer Leverkusen team-mate, Florian Wirtz, one of the players.
Another player The Athletic is reporting that City will consider signing is Ola Aina’s team-mate at Nottingham Forest, Morgan Gibbs-White.
City are expected to take a look at a number of other players as they search for De Bruyne’s replacement, with the club also not prioritising transfer targets until new Sporting Director, Hugo Viana, resumes work fully.
