KRC Genk striker Tolu Arokodare has beaten Super Eagles compatriot Raphael Onyedika to emerge as the Ebony Shoe award winner, a prize that is given best player of African descent in the Belgium’s Jupiler Pro League.
24-year-old Arokodare has earned the prize after scoring 20 goals and providing seven assists during the season, to become the sixth Nigerian player to claim the prize and the first since Paul Onuachu won it in 2021.
Other Nigerians who have won the award are Daniel Amokachi, Victor Ikpeba, Godwin Opara and Celestine Babayaro.
