Manchester United have announced the signing of Denmark defender Patrick Dorgu from Italian Serie A side Lecce.
The 20-year-old, who had featured 37 games for Lecce, has put pen to paper on a five-and-a-half year contract, which will keep him at Old Trafford until June 2030, with the option of a further year.
Dorgu will cost the Red Devils an initial £25.1 million, with a potential £4.2 million in add-ons.
“I am incredibly proud to be able to call myself a Manchester United player; this is a very special day for my whole family,” Dorgu revealed after signing his contract. “I cannot wait to work with Ruben Amorim – his vision for this team and the future of the club is incredibly exciting.”
The youngster added, “There is a clear plan set out for my development, and I feel that Manchester United is the perfect place to fulfil my potential and complete my huge ambitions.”
Dorgu’s arrival at Old Trafford will increase United boss Ruben Amorim’s options at the left wing-back position.
