Nigeria’s Favour Ashe has made it to the semi-final of the men’s 100m event at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris following his fourth place finish in one of the 100m men’s Heat.
Making his Olympic debut, Ashe had to wait for confirmation after finishing with a time of 10.16 seconds, eventually pulling through to the semi-final as a non-automatic qualifier.
But he will need to be in peak form to make the final after being pitched in the semis alongside world champion Noah Lyles and Great Britain’s Louie Hinchliffe who beat Lyles in their Heat.
The young Nigerian will also face Jamaica’s Oblique Seville, Cameroon’s Emmanuel Eseme and Ghana’s Benjamin Azamati in the semi-final.
