The Victor Osimhen transfer saga has taken a new twist after the Napoli striker’s agent moved to deny news from The Athletic stating his client will join Chelsea in a loan move this summer with a buy option at the end of the season.
“I’ve read about unfounded imaginary trades involving Victor, shipped around like a package ready for delivery,” Roberto Calenda stated in a tweet on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday.
“But remember that this “package” is the top scorer of the third scudetto in Naples’ history. Respect and no more fake news!” Calenda added, squashing an earlier report from The Athletic concerning Osimhen moving to Chelsea.
The 25-year-old has not featured in Napoli’s pre-season camp having made clear his intention to exit the San Paolo this summer, with Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal reported to also be interested in his signature alongside Chelsea.
