Victor Osimhen was on target twice for Galatasaray as the Super Lig leaders cruised to a 3-0 win over Trabzonspor in the Turkish Cup final at the Gaziantep Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Super Eagles striker was instrumental in the opening goal after five minutes, laying the ball off to Yunus Akgun, who then set up Baris Yilmaz to find the breakthrough against Trabzonspor.
Trabzonspor kept Galatasaray at bay for the rest of the half, but were sliced open within a minute of the restart when Akgun’s pass found Osimhen in the box for the Nigerian to beat the goalkeeper with a low shot.
The win was sealed just past the hour mark with Osimhen’s tap in for his fifth goal in the competition and 35th in all competitions this season, as Galatasaray saw the rest of the game off and lifted the Turkish Cup for the 19th time.
Galatasaray have the chance to complete a domestic double at the weekend in a match at home to Kayserispor, needing just a point to edge Fenerbahce to the league title with two games to spare.
