Onyeka Okongwu shot 60% from the field and posted a double double as the Atlanta Hawks came out of a back-and-forth battle at the TD Garden victorious over the Boston Celtics.
The 24-year-old scored 19 points and 13 rebounds in 32 minutes against the Celtics, while Trae Young led the scoring with 28 points and 11 assists to give the Hawks a 119-115 overtime win.
Celtics had four players score 20+ points on the night yet were guilty of making poor shots at crucial moments of the game, although the Hawks also made a mess of two free-throws taken by Jalen Johnson in the closing stages of overtime.
The result lifts Atlanta to a third straight win and 22-19 record in the East, while Celtics drop 6.5 games behind Cleveland Cavaliers at the top of the Conference with a 29-13 record – this being their eighth loss at home this season.
