Shai Gilgeous-Alexander put up another 30+ display and this time, it was not in vain, as Oklahoma City Thunder claimed a 123-107 win over Indiana Pacers in Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night and level the series.
The Western Conference champions were seconds from winning Game 1 when Pascal Siakam and Tyrese Haliburton scored the last two buckets to complete a stunning one-point comeback win for the Pacers, but OKC made sure there would be no repeat of such in Game 2.
Following a close first quarter, OKC went on a 17-2 run in the second quarter to open a 23-point lead which the Pacers – becoming infamous for pulling off historic comebacks this post-season – found too much to come back from this time.
SGA finished the night with 34 points and eight assists, making him the player with the highest ever points total in history after their first two NBA Finals games. The Canadian star is also the 12th player in NBA history to reach 3,000 combined points in the regular season and post-season.
Check out highlights from OKC’s Game 2 win, with Game 3 coming up on Wednesday night in Indiana.
