Action in the Nigeria Premier Football League on Saturday saw Shooting Stars beat an injury ravaged Kano Pillars side 2-0 at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Adamasingba, Ibadan.

Ahmed Musa’s Pillars had no answer for the Oluyole Warriors, who took the lead through Joshua Akpan one minute after the half-time break. The hosts doubled their advantage through Adams Mustapha in the 78th minute.

The result moves Shooting up to fourth spot on the NPFL standings with 27 points after 17 matches played, two points behind the leading duo of Remo Stars and Rivers United.

Elsewhere in the NPFL on Saturday, Lobi Stars recorded a 1-0 victory over Plateau United at the Lafia City Stadium with Waheed Adebayo scoring the winning goal on the stroke of half time.

The result sees Lobi move off the bottom to 15 spot, one place above Plateau United, who fell to an eighth consecutive defeat on the road this season.
