Jannik Sinner is through to his first final at the French Open after coming through three tough sets on Friday against three-time champion at Roland Garros, Novak Djokovic, to set up clash against defending champion, Carlos Alcaraz.
38-year-old Djokovic was in for a long night after being broken in the first set by his 23-year-old Italian opponent who came into the match on a three-match winning streak against the Serbian, who was aiming to win a record 25th grand slam and become the oldest champion at Roland Garros.

Djokovic took the second set to a tie-break before being edged by Sinner, with the world number one crucially saving three set points in the third set while down 5-4 to force another tie-breaker in the match, going on to seal a 6-4, 7-5, 7-6 victory.
Sinner is yet to drop a set at this year’s tournament as he now prepares to face world number two and defending champion, Carlos Alcaraz in Sunday’s final – the first meeting between the top two seeds in a grand slam final.
