Seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic showed that he remains a real threat for a record-extending 25th Grand Slam title with a clinical 6-3, 6-2, 6-0 second-round demolition of Dan Evans on Centre Court on Thursday.

The 38-year-old, who has reached the last six finals at Wimbledon – losing to Alcaraz in the last two after winning the first four – got off the blocks in fiery manner against the 35-year-old Brit, who beat Djokovic in their only previous meeting four years ago.

While Evans was able to four break points in a marathon fourth game, three in the sixth and another two in the eighth, Djokovic broke back in the 10th game and never looked back as he eased through the second set before serving bagel to Evans to take the third set and seal passage into round three.

In another match on Thursday, 34-year-old Grigor Dimitrov rolled back the years to claim a hard-fought 7-5, 4-6, 7-5, 7-5 win over 26-year-old Corentin Moutet of France and reach the third round at the All England Club.
