Nigeria’s Super Falcons number one goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, is expected at the team’s camp in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, later on Tuesday, as preparations intensifies for the double-header encounter against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon.
The 24-year-old, who has been a standout performer for both club and country, only recently returned from a minor injury problem. Nnadozie was forced off in the 79th minute of Paris FC’s 4-0 thrashing of Fleury 91 last month in the French Primiere Ligue.
Nnadozie, who has been heavily linked with a move across the English channel to Women’s Super League outfit Everton, last featured in a top-flight league encounter against PSG on May 11, making only two saves as her team lost 3-0.
Full-back Michelle Alozie, PSG midfielder Jennifer Echegini, UD Tenerife winger Omorinsola Babajide and captain Rasheedat Ajibade were all early birds to arrive camp in Ogun State. Portugal-based midfielder Christy Ucheibe will join the team on Wednesday.
Head coach Justine Madugu had invited 23 players, and were directed to arrive at the Am2pm Hotel in Ijebu-Ode on Monday.
The Super Falcons and the Lionesses will first play each other at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne-Remo on Saturday, 31st May, before a second fixture at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta on Tuesday, 3rd June.
